About the PI: Currently serving as a Director of Ratnagiri Sub-Centre of KKSU. Ph.D. is awarded to him in the year 2014 by R. S. Vidyapeetha, Tirupati. He has taught Vedanga Jyotisha at UG as well as PG Level. Three research scholars are working under his guidance and one research scholar who completed his research under his guidance is awarded Ph.D. More than 15 of his Research Articles are published in various Journals, which include Research Articles on Vasaranam Utpattivicharah, and Vaidika Pramana Sapekshata, Also he has written and presented Research Papers on many topics related to Jyotisha Shastra which include a research papers on Indian Astronomy. He is the recipient of The President of India “Dr. Shankar Dayal Sharma Gold Medal” for his Excellence in academic performance and extra-curricular activities from Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati for the year 2004-05. Also, He is the recipient of the “Varahamihira Prasasthi and Gold Medal” for securing First Rank in the Jyotisha Acharya from Rashtriya Sanskrit Vidyapeetha, Tirupati in the year 2004-05.
Text – ‘Laghu Jatakam’
The Laghu Jatakam is a highly authentic work on Vedic Astrology written by the celebrated master Varaha Mihira. It contains rich material for any serious practitioner of Vedic Astrology.
The special features of this book are Introduction to signs and planets, and their strength; Mutual planetary relationship and physical and other attributes of planets; a detailed description of matters pertaining to impregnation and childbirth; comprehensive treatment of the astrological principles governing Balarishta and Arishta-Bhanga; calculation of longevity; Varaha Mihira’s special Dasha system; a chapter on Ashtakavarga; a special feature of female horoscopes;
Miscellaneous matters like solar and lunar yogas, Raja-yogas, yogas giving rise to Samnyasa, matters pertaining to death, and the fate of the native after exiting from this world. One chapter on the method of constructing a horoscope when birth details are not known. The book is profusely illustrated with horoscope charts to elucidate its rich content.
